This privacy policy applies to all users of Vecharter, including customers and drivers (including driver applicants), and to all of Vecharter's platforms and services, such as our website, applications, technology, facilities, and other offerings (collectively, the "Vecharter Platform"). This policy only applies to personal information and does not cover aggregate information or data that does not personally identify you. Please note that your use of the Vecharter Platform is subject to our Terms of Service. Certain parts of the Vecharter Platform may have separate or additional terms or practices that differ from or add to those outlined in this policy. If that is the case, you will receive separate notification and information relevant to your use of those parts of the Vecharter Platform.

Information We Collect

When you use Vecharter's platform, we collect the information you provide, as well as usage information and device information. Additionally, we may gather information about you from third-party service providers and any optional programs in which you participate. This information may be combined with other data we have about you. Below are the categories of information we collect about you:

Information You Provide

Account Creation: When you register an account with Vecharter, we will ask for certain information such as your name, email address, phone number, birth date, profile photo, and payment details. To verify your identity, we may request additional information, such as a government-issued identification or a profile picture.

Driver Information: If you apply to become a Driver with Vecharter, we will ask for information including your name, email address, phone number, birth date, physical address, government identification number, driver's license details, vehicle information, and car insurance information. Additionally, we may require payment information, such as bank routing numbers and tax details. Depending on the location where you wish to drive, we may ask for further business licenses or permit details. We may also need to confirm your identity after becoming a Driver, which may include the submission of a "selfie" photo.

Reviews and Feedback: If you provide feedback and ratings about Vecharter's services (including about Drivers or Riders), we collect all of the information included in your feedback.

Information We Collect

At VeCharter, we understand the importance of accurate and timely transportation services. To ensure an efficient and reliable experience for our users, we collect various types of information when you use our platform. This includes location information, usage information, and device information.

For location information, we collect your device's precise location when you use our app and in background, depending on your device permissions and app settings. For riders, we collect your location from the time you request a ride until it ends. For drivers, we collect your location when you use the app and also for a limited time after you exit driver mode. Additionally, if you have installed a VeCharter device in your vehicle, it may collect location information when turned on.

Usage information includes data about your rides such as the date, time, destination, distance, route, payment, and promo codes used. We may also collect mobile sensor data such as speed, direction, height, acceleration, and deceleration. Furthermore, we collect information about your interactions with our platform, including pages and content viewed, and dates and times of use.

Lastly, we collect device information such as device model, IP address, browser type, operating system version, carrier, manufacturer, radio type, preferences and settings, application installations, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, and push notification tokens. For drivers, we also collect mobile sensor data from your device. If you choose to install a VeCharter device in your vehicle, it may similarly collect sensor data and other information, such as location.

Data We Collect From Third Parties

To provide you with core features of the VeCharter Platform, as well as additional services and benefits, we obtain information from third-party service providers and other partners. These include background check providers, insurance partners, financial service providers, marketing providers, and other businesses. The information we receive from these parties includes:

Safety-related data such as background check and identity verification information.

Information about your participation in third-party programs that provide insurance coverage or financial instruments such as payment and transaction data, and fraud detection information.

Data needed to manage promotional or loyalty programs, as well as applications, services, or features that you link to your VeCharter account.

Information about you provided by specific services, such as demographic and market segment data, as well as vehicle information.

How We Use Your Information

Vecharter uses your personal information for several purposes, including providing you with the best experience possible. This involves verifying your identity and maintaining your account, settings, and preferences, connecting you to your rides, and providing various offerings such as vehicle services and personalized advertisements. We also use your information to maintain the security and safety of our platform and its users, including verifying drivers and vehicles, investigating and resolving incidents, and preventing fraud.

Vecharter strives to build and maintain a positive community by communicating with you about events, promotions, and elections, and providing targeted advertising to promote and grow our platform. We also provide customer support to assist you with any questions or issues you may have regarding the veCharter platform. Additionally, we use your personal information to improve the veCharter platform by performing research and analysis, developing new products and features, and monitoring our operations and processes.

How We Share Your Information

At VeCharter, we take the privacy of our users very seriously. We do not sell any personal information we collect from our users to third parties for money, and we do not act as a data broker. However, we may need to share your personal information with other users, third parties, and service providers to make our platform work and deliver relevant personalized ads to you on and off the VeCharter platform.

We may share rider information with drivers and driver information with riders, including pickup and destination location, name, profile photo, and rating. We do share contact information between rider and driver.

If you take a ride requested or paid for by someone else or through a referral program, we may share some of your ride details with that party, including your identity, the date, time, charge, rating given, region of trip, and pickup and drop-off location.

To provide the VeCharter platform, we may share personal information, such as your name, address, email, phone number, government identification number, bank routing numbers, and location data with service providers and other parties for various purposes, including processing rides, verifying user identity, detecting fraud, and providing customer service.

We may also share personal information in response to legal obligations or to protect the VeCharter platform. We take all necessary precautions to safeguard your data and ensure your privacy is protected.

How We Store Your Information

At VeCharter, we understand the importance of protecting your personal information and ensuring its confidentiality. As such, we retain your information only for as long as necessary to provide you with the best possible experience on our platform, as well as to comply with legal obligations and resolve any disputes that may arise. This means that we keep your profile information as long as you have an active account with us. Additionally, we retain transactional information such as rides and payments for at least seven years to fulfill our accounting and tax obligations. In the event that you request account deletion, we will delete your information in accordingly as per the law of Nova Scotia and Canadian Government. While we take reasonable measures to safeguard your information, no security measures can guarantee 100% protection against unauthorized intrusions or acts by third parties.

Change To Privacy Policies

We may modify our privacy policy from time to time to keep up with changes to the Vecharter Platform and evolving privacy laws. In case of updates, we will post the changes online, and if there are any significant modifications, we will notify you through the Vecharter Platform or by email. By using Vecharter, you agree to the latest version of this privacy policy.
